California Wins

2018 Statewide Wins

Left Hook was proud to play a key role in California’s Blue Wave, winning some of the most crucial federal and local elections of 2017 and 2018 across the Golden State.

Along with the re-elections of U.S. Representatives Ami Bera and Pete Aguilar, in Orange County Left Hook helped guide Congressman-Elect Gil Cisneros through a 17-way primary and general election in the most expensive Congressional race of the 2018 cycle.

Left Hook also led general audience media strategy for the DCCC’s independent expenditure for Congressman-Elect Josh Harder in the Central Valley’s 10th Congressional District.

We worked with SEIU California and working families to help elect Assemblymember Wendy Carrillo in a highly competitive special election in Los Angeles.

We helped elect Assemblymember Robert Rivas in Salinas, California, a region that has earned the moniker “the salad bowl of the world” for its strong agricultural industry.

For the California State Senate, Left Hook worked with Anna Caballero to flip a pivotal seat in the Central Valley, helping Democrats regain a super-majority in the upper chamber.

In the Coachella Valley, we were proud to partner with Manny Perez, the first Latino to be elected to the Riverside County Board of Supervisors, who won a historic 57% of the electorate’s support in the June Primary.

And in San Diego, Left Hook worked with Nathan Fletcher to flip a historically-Republican, northern-county Supervisorial seat and become the only Democrat on the board and just the second Democrat elected in the past 25 years.

We helped boost the Democratic majority on the San Diego City Council, electing Dr. Jen Campbell, ousting a two term, entrenched Republican incumbent. Left Hook also worked with educators and working men and women to strengthen San Diego public schools by passing Bond Measures YY and DD.
