Left Hook, a Democratic political media, strategy and public affairs firm, in partnership with ALG Research, Authentic, Blueprint Interactive, Field Strategies, Hopkins+Sachs, Mission Control, Spiros Consulting, and Wildfire Mail, is proud to announce a first-of-its-kind fellowship program designed to cultivate talent and build a diverse pipeline of staff for political campaigns, advocacy groups and progressive organizations.
As a participant in this program, fellows will conduct three rotations, each ten weeks in length, with a different partner firm where they’ll be fully embedded in the firm’s operations and given an opportunity to learn more about the electoral politics industry at-large as well as each firm’s work to support progressive campaigns and causes.
This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to break into the world of electoral campaigns and advocacy for the 2022 election cycle. In addition to gaining valuable work experience, fellows will also be given extensive networking and professional development opportunities over the course of the program.
The program will be conducted remotely beginning Monday, October 4th, 2021, and conclude on May 27th, 2022. Each fellow will be paid $20/hour; benefits include health care and paid vacation for holidays.
Ideal candidates are experienced in strategic communications, particularly with pitching stories and research, and have strong relationships with beltway media, including with broadcast outlets. This position is remote.
What You Can Expect:
•Gaining substantive experience in electoral politics by working with multiple firms with varying areas of expertise
•Building a foundation of skills that will help you secure a job on a campaign or with an advocacy organization for 2022
•Weekly networking and professional development opportunities
•Working in a collaborative, fast paced work environment
What We’re Looking For:
•Current and recent undergrad and grad students interested in a career in electoral politics
•An ability to make an 8 month commitment to the fellowship and work 40 hours a week throughout the duration of the program
•A commitment to advocating for progressive causes, but not necessarily past political experience
