Sarah Levene Buffone

Partner
Sarah Levene Buffone is a Partner at Left Hook.

The daughter of northern California activists, Sarah’s earliest political memory is a 1988 Jesse Jackson for President rally in her hometown of Mendocino, CA. This event ignited a life-long love of campaign politics that ultimately brought her to Washington, DC a decade and a half later.

With nearly two decades of political experience, Sarah specializes in media planning and buying strategies for candidates, issue, advocacy and non-profit clients. Throughout her career she has developed and executed multi-platform campaigns in media markets across all 50 states.

Prior to joining Left Hook, Sarah spent 9 years with GMMB, managing paid media strategies for a variety of clients including AARP, NextGen America, Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), American Lung Association, Americans for Stable Quality Care and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. She directed media strategy for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s Independent Expenditure for four cycles, becoming widely-recognized as the firm’s leading congressional media expert, touching every competitive district since 2006.

She was the lead Iowa buyer for Obama for America, beginning with his historic win in the Iowa Caucuses in January of 2008 and continuing through his re-elect win in November of 2012.

A graduate of the University of California, Davis, Sarah is the (extremely) proud mother of two 5th generation San Francisco Giant fans. She lives with her husband and two young sons in Washington, DC.
